This year on March 24, the Armenian community in Plovdiv received a truly colorful gift for Dzaghgazart from the AGBU Saturday School Theater Group ‘Malvina Manoukian’. Two newly staged performances directed by Varta Marukyan flourished on stage at the Armenian Cultural Hall in Plovdiv on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

Along with the students of the Theatrical Group, the AGBU Plovdiv Saturday School vocalists presented their most current  repertoire of songs.

The audience had been eagerly anticipating the two new productions of the theater group—two plays interpreted upon the classical texts by Hovhannes Toumanian and Avedik Isaakian ‘The Fool’ and ‘This Nobody is Me’. The young actors poured their hearts and exhibited their talent on stage under the original directorial guidance and choice to introduce the author as a character in the play.

They fully deserved and sincerely enjoyed the long applause and praise by the community members in attendance.

The plays were followed by a literary recital of Armenian verses dedicated to Dzaghgazart and vocal performances by the students at the AGBU Plovdiv Saturday School.

The event concluded on a high note and with high hopes when the young students offered everyone in the audience unique handmade ruffle prizes in the form of wishes, which they had each written and prepared on paper in shapes and the colors of Dzaghgazart.
