Thessaloniki, Greece — September 21, 2025.
From September 19 to 21, 2025, the Armenian dance ensemble “YAN” visited the Armenian community in Thessaloniki at the invitation of Mr. Akis Dagazyan, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Thessaloniki. The ensemble took part in a joint concert with Masis and Kilikia local Armenian dance groups, dedicated to the celebration of Armenia’s Independence Day.

The festive concert, held under the auspices of the Honorary Consul, took place at the historic “Aneton” Theatre, located in the heart of Thessaloniki, near the Armenian Church and the Armenian Cultural Center. The event brought together members of the Armenian diaspora and local audiences for an evening of artistry, unity, and national pride.
The program featured a rich blend of traditional and contemporary Armenian dances, showcasing the talent and dedication of “YAN” and their collaboration with Thessaloniki’s local dance groups. Among the distinguished guests were Mr. Arthur Gasoyan, Deputy Director of the National Center for Folklore, Music and Dance of Armenia, and Maestro Gagik Karapetyan, Artistic Director of the State Dance Ensemble of Armenia. Earlier in September, “YAN” had participated in intensive rehearsals under Maestro Karapetyan’s guidance, further refining their artistic performance.
The concert not only celebrated the independence and cultural heritage of Armenia but also strengthened the enduring ties between the Armenian communities of Bulgaria and Greece, reflecting the unifying spirit of Armenian culture through dance and music.
