Portraits:The voice of Bulgarian students in Europe:Irina Andre Chavushyan

AGBU Plovdiv scholarship recipient Irina Andre Chavushyan is taking an important step in international student representation. As a newly elected member, the leadership of the National Representation of Student Councils* in Bulgaria has entrusted her with the responsibility of representing Bulgarian students before the European Students’ Union, with full voting rights. She takes on the significant task of building a bridge between Bulgarian and European higher education.

Irina has gained experience through her long-standing volunteer work within the ranks of the AGBU Plovdiv Chapter. Since 2017, she has participated in AGBU programs in Armenia — Discover Armenia and ACT. She is an active contributor to AGBU Plovdiv’s charitable events and has initiated several projects herself. The leadership has also entrusted Irina with managing the social media profile of the YAN Dance Ensemble, relying on her experience in advertising and marketing.

Representation is the responsibility to be the authentic voice of a community. “My goal is to showcase the potential of Bulgarian students and to affirm our country as an active partner in Europe,” says Irina Andre.
