Celebrating the Achievements of Our AGBU Scholarship Recipients
Suzanna Arutyunyan–Vasilevska is an AGBU scholarship recipient.
She was born in Yerevan, Armenia. In 2000 she graduated from the “Dobrin Petkov” National School of Music and Dance Arts in Plovdiv as a performing artist specializing in piano. She continued her studies at the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts (AMDFA) in Plovdiv, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. In 2005 she completed a Master’s degree in Art Management at the same institution, and in 2012 she received a PhD in Marketing of Musical and Performing Arts. In 2018 she obtained the academic title of Associate Professor in Art Management and Marketing in the Arts, again at AMDFA.
Her professional journey at the Plovdiv Drama Theatre began in 2006 as Marketing Manager, and in 2024 she became Director of the cultural institution.

For 20 years she has taught at AMDFA– Plovdiv in the disciplines “Art Management,” “Marketing and Creative Activity,” and “Advertising and the Arts.” In 2019 she received the Rector’s Award for high academic engagement and the creative achievements of her students. She is co-author of the first Art Management textbook in Bulgaria.
On the Day of Saints Cyril and Methodius, a special recognition will be bestowed upon theatre manager and Director of the Plovdiv Drama Theatre, Suzanna Arutyunyan–Vasilevska — the Honorary Badge of the City of Plovdiv. Congratulations to all awarded Plovdiv artists whose talent continues to inspire the creation of cultural masterpieces in our millennia-old city.
