HERITAGE
Armenian culture preserving the spirit in its stone – carved or native. Thus, in the ethnography of our folk wisdom, the uneven breath of the centuries is sealed. It is recreated in music, often sad, but majestic. In dance – graceful and captivating. In language – a source of the wisdom of the people. In faith – unsubdued, unsacrificed and centuries-old.
We at AGBU Plovdiv, getting to know today’s modern world, carry these values inscribed in books, transmitted orally, bequeathed. We want to pass them on to the next – the generation coming after us. The generation that is conquered by technology. To engage them in accessible applied activities that will simultaneously bind them to their roots and enrich their culture.
EDUCATION
We at AGBU Plovdiv direct our efforts to raise the educational threshold and support the career development of young people through a number of educational programs – AGBU GLP Global Leadership Program, AGBU Scholarship Program, to unite children and youth from all over the world through AGBU Discover Armenia, ACT, ARMAT, AVC, YP, FOCUS, etc. To be closer to them through dance groups, our educational projects, to raise our national flag together with the Armenian tricolor, to sing and dance as they do in Armenia.
CULTURE
Armenian culture is a bridge between antiquity and eternity – it has preserved the spirit of the mountains, faith and art. Today it is unique because it combines Eastern and Western influences in one. The Armenian in the Diaspora has a strong sense of identity and inspires his belonging in the creation of amateur activities close to professional creativity, in presenting it to the communities where he lives, publishing Armenian literature, participating in forums of national and international rank.
CHARITY
Charity is a form of goodness, a language that everyone understands. We at AGBU Plovdiv are confident that the various forms of charity, widely established in the global AGBU network, help the vital pulse among the Armenian community in the Diaspora not to die out, but even more courageously to overcome difficulties, to survive and preserve its national mark.
The assistance is large-scale, when AGBU helped Armenia more than once, came to the aid of Lebanon, did not abandon the victims of Hurricane Katrina, poured enormous financial resources into Artsakh and its people.
We share our voluntary work for the benefit of society and the young. We want to change the stereotype of our encapsulated society and open new horizons for all of us, the Armenians of the Diaspora. What we can certainly do is to consistently serve our goals, to unite our talent and knowledge, to burn in charitable deeds. Because we have followers, donors, volunteers that we are proud of. Because of their trust in us, we must continue!
